Packing and shipping materials
I have never had any guitar damaged or lost in transit. I use extra strong DOUBLE WALLED cardboard boxes, bubble wrap to wrap the guitars body, neck and headstock in. Its common practice to slack the strings off and slide some KRAFT PAPER underneath to cover and protect the fretboard, this way the strings wont dig in and cause any damage. I use extra layers of bubble wrap underneath the guitars headstock, more so behind where the guitars nut is where the headstock joins the neck. This adds extra protection and support. Once the guitars in its box and secured the bottom with strong packing tape i put the guitar in the box in a case, a hardcase would be better but a normal softcase /gig bag is ok as long as it is packed properly. I fill the box with either kraft paper or bubble wrap to stop the guitar moving about, close and seal the top with strong packing tape, print the packing slip off for the front of the box.
