Im demonstrating the E minor pentatonic scale starting in the 1st position and moving up the neck. Im starting on root notes. A quaver is the note and time value and would be spoken like this…. 1 and 2 and 3 and 4, 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and. The metronomes set at a nice slow tempo – 70bpm. My picking hand im using down up down up down with the plectrum. Isolating these shapes and learning the notes across the fretboard is the 1st stage before applying it to improvisation.

Check my video out. Its me playing and demonstrating the neck pickup on a clean channel and the kent armstrong bridge pickup with an overdrive pedal (ts9) Im plugged in a to dv mark little jazz amp. Would get much better tone through a fender valve amp so to make it sing like that through a budget amplifier imagine how powerful and ferocious these pickups can sound plugged in at a gig through a fender valve amp
